Keyboard reference
Roono is deliberately sparse with shortcuts — a handful, each earning its place. Keep this page open in a tab for your first week; after that your hands will know them.
Any mode, any timeEverywhere
| ⌘K | Universal search — drafts, transcripts, canvas cards, and evidence text, across the project. |
| esc | Close the open sheet or exit the current transient mode (focus, search). |
The editorWrite
| esc then esc | Enter focus mode — chrome folds away, paper goes dark, the current paragraph stays bright. |
| esc | Exit focus mode and return to the full window. |
| ◎ pill | The title-bar focus pill toggles focus mode if you prefer the pointer. |
| Language menu | In the Write footer: dictionary, thesaurus, spelling alternatives, and translation for the selection or the word at the caret. |
HistoryTimeline
| ⌘⇧M | Merge the current branch into its target. Conflicts always stop for you to resolve manually — never auto-resolved. |
InterviewsStudio
| ⏎ | On a transcript row: pull the quote to the draft cursor with its live ♪mm:ss link. |
The fifth modeAgent
| ⌘J | Jump to the Agent workspace — and back to the writing mode you came from. |
| ⏎ | Accept a proposal — the draft, linked pins, the gate, and the Timeline update together. |
| ⌫ | Reject a proposal — the branch is archived and the draft is untouched. |
You don't have to memorize theseA note on discoverability
Every shortcut in roono appears on screen beside its action: the ◎ pill in the title bar, the exit hint in focus mode's bottom strip, ⏎ and ⌫ on the proposal card itself. The keys are accelerators for habits you already saw once — not a hidden layer you have to study.
