A local-first writing app for Mac.
Your draft should live where you write. ronoo is a native Mac writing IDE with local-first storage, optional private device sync, and an encrypted Vault that never enters agent sandboxes.

ronoo does not require a roono account to write. The product is a $50 Direct purchase for Mac. Drafts, Moments, and project structure live in a local-first workspace you control.
Sensitive sources belong in the Vault
Protect notes, documents, and material that must not appear in exports, Spotlight, or agent context. The Vault is encrypted and structurally excluded from agent workspaces — not scrubbed by filters after the fact.
Optional sync without a public writing cloud
When you want the same project on another of your Apple devices, private iCloud sync is available for that purpose. It is not a shared web editor or a subscription writing platform.
Agents are optional and scoped
ronoo has no built-in writing model and does not charge an AI subscription. If you connect a supported agent, you choose the context it receives. The Vault stays unmounted. Changes return as proposals.
History you can recover
Every save creates an immutable Moment. Browse, compare, branch, and restore without physically deleting history. Local-first does not mean fragile.
Own the finished files
Export canonical Markdown, portable archives, and compiled editions. Bring work in through a mapping preview. Leave with files you can open elsewhere.

Does ronoo require a cloud account?
No. ronoo is a Direct Mac purchase with no roono account required to write. Your manuscript stays local-first. Optional private iCloud sync is for your devices, not a public cloud workspace.
What is the Vault?
The Vault is an encrypted place for sensitive sources. It is structurally absent from agent workspaces, exports, Spotlight, and logs — not filtered after the fact.
Do agents see my whole project?
Only the context you approve. Agents cannot see the Vault. Suggested edits land on proposal branches you review before anything reaches the active draft.
