A native writing desk: local markdown drafts, offline dictionary and grammar, and Ask roono through your own API keys or Ollama on this machine.

The install file is not on this deploy yet. Run ./scripts/stage-desktop-dmg.sh from the repo, then redeploy the marketing service on Railway.

Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag roono into Applications.
  3. First launch: right-click the app → Open → confirm. macOS only asks once for unsigned builds.
  4. Open roono — you write as a local desktop user; no cloud account required.

Requirements

  • macOS 11 or later on Apple Silicon (arm64)
  • About 200 MB disk space (app + offline lexicon)
  • Internet only for cloud AI connectors you configure, or sync when we ship it
